Iceland 2023
It was exciting to go to Iceland a second time. We went in 2019 and explored the south coast. Then this trip in late May - early June 2023 when we explored more northern areas (Akureyri whale watching, Diamond Circle tour with lots of waterfalls, Snæfellsjökull National Park on the Snæfellsnes peninsula (more waterfalls, including the famous Kirkjufellsfoss), Fagradalsfjall volcano complex (eruptions in 2021 and 2022) and "Bridge Between Continents" on the Reykjanes peninsula.
This just in: a new eruption at Fagradalsfjall started July 11, 2023, about a month after we were there, and is still ongoing as of Aug 6.
